Family and members of the community demand justice for the death of 20 year old Ryan Ronquillo who was unarmed when fatally shot 11 times by Denver Police in northwest Denver July 2, 2014.
On October 23, 2014, the first in a series of protests begins near Ronquillo family’s home. A crowd forms taking over several lanes on busy Federal Boulevard and then proceeds to downtown Denver where they are met with a strong police presence in tactical uniform. Denver Police attempt to apprehend several protestors causing chaos to erupt and Ronquillo's mother is thrown to the ground.
January 4th 2015 another attempt is made to protest near the family's home however is largely ignored by the police due to poor weather conditions.
